Christmas is just around the corner! Less than a week until all of your family will be showing up to spend some time with you. You know what that means right? Time to clean the house, and more importantly the kitchen, and make everything look good for the in-laws! We came up with a list of a few tips to learn how to speed clean your kitchen. We recommend setting a timer for about 20 minutes just to give yourself a deadline and urge you to move a little faster.
Our first tip has you spending the first few minutes just clearing everything off the countertops and out of the sink. You can throw it all in another room, in the cabinets or in the laundry room, but get it all off your countertops. You want a blank slate to work your magic. This includes the coffee machine, wine bottles, crayons, toaster, plates, everything!
For the next 5 minutes we're going to change gears into anti-hoarder. You should go through the fridge and pantry to throw out anything that's old, expired or you just don't need anymore. Check the freezer for old veggies or frostbitten meat. I'm sure you don't need (nor want) that year old ham from last Thanksgiving. If you haven't touched it in a while and see no need to use it in the future, throw it out.
For the 3rd tip, just clean. Wipe everything down with a wet warm cloth or paper towel and try to get crumbs and sticky stuff cleaned up. Countertops, sink, fridge, freezer, clean it all up. It shouldn't take long though since we just threw all the junk out!
The last thing you should be doing now that everything has been cleaned is to organize it all. As you're putting things back into the kitchen try to keep it tidy and in order. The best way to keep your kitchen clean is to keep your kitchen organized. I don't know who said that, but it sounds like it works in this scenario. Either way, just make it all look good and still have easy access to the things you'll use everyday. If you've still got some time left, you can sweep the floor real quick and maybe even get a quick mop in there too.
Alright, so now that the timer's gone off you're kitchen should be looking great. That's how you speed clean your kitchen in 20 minutes or less! Of course you can always hire a professional house cleaning service to get the job done. You can also check out friends at West Maids. They provide Calgary cleaning services and do a really good job! Well, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's!
